The T.2020 System, as the result of the work of a special commission of the School of Engineering formed in 2017, includes a systemic “vision” on IT services for teaching aimed at creating a perfect match between the needs of teachers and the tools available of the students.
The study considered the IT tools for teaching – digital learning – (initially for Engineering teaching) and set the following objectives:
- classrooms designed for teaching that combines the traditional frontal method in the classroom with activities mediated by computers or mobile systems ( teaching blended ), including modalities in which (1 ) the lesson becomes homework, while the time in the classroom is used for collaborative activities , experiences, debates and workshops ( Flipped Classroom ) and (2) active learning moments are incorporated to make training more engaging and akin to the needs of future professionals ( Active Learning );
- didactic structures that adopt criteria to facilitate inclusion , in order to favor the improvement of university life of all female students and all students and to reduce drop-out;
- tools aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the teaching action, in relation to the number of students / year expected.
